Starting in the year 1977, the national winter carnival has been one of the sensations of the mountains during the winter. The very first carnival was inaugurated byLate Dr. Y. S. Parmar, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh then.National Winter Carnival has been a great mix of cultural events and skiing activities that take place in the SolangNala.

‘In the beginning the cultural program was organized by the Manu Rang Shalawhich brought young students and other people from entire India. This continued only till 1984. Thereafter the lead of organizing this carnival was undertaken by a club of Manali Youth named as Manu Kala Kendra. They spearheaded the winter carnival from 1985 to 1992. By the year 1993 the Manu Kala Kendra got together with Trios Mumbai. Since then the event has not looked back and has become even grander.

It has become an important state level function with a lot of programs and competitions being held. The tourists enjoy a lot and the participants not only come from all over India butother international destinations as well.

The event is an important addition into the cultural calendar of Himachal Pradesh and a must visit for people vacationing in Himachal during winters. The major highlights of this carnival includes skiing championship, himachali food festival, craft bazaar, local band competition, folk dances, street plays, adventure sports etc. As a huge tourist attraction, this event is a rich showcase of true Himachali culture and traditions.

04 Nights / 05 Days - Manai Winter Carnival Tour Package Itinerary

Day 01: ~ Chandigarh-Manali (310 Kms, 8-9 Hrs)
Arrival on Chandigarh airport or railway station and driven to Manali enroute exploring the beauty of Sunder Nagar Lake, Pandoh dam on river Beas and Kullu if time permits. Also, your cab will pass through Bilaspur, Sundernagar, Mandi and Kullu on the way to Manali.
Day 02: ~ Manali local sight seeing The third day is reserved for exploring the beauty of Manali city. After a quick breakfast, visit Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple, Vashishth temple, Vashishth hot water sulphur springs, Club house, Buddhist Monasteries, and Van Vihar. Later we will drive you back to Manali. Visit Tibetan Market, old Manali village, and the Mall road in evening. Spend the rest of night in Manali hotel.
Day 03: ~ Manali Snow-point / Rohtang PassEarly Morning proceed for full day tour of Rohtang Pass – The majesty of the mountains and the glaciers can be seen at their best After enjoying this snowy heaven, take a sledge ride down the slopes & try luck by climbing the little snow hills. On descending to Manali, halt at the Rahalla falls and Solang Valley. The Magnificent views and natural beauty are a never-ending source of delight. Also halt at Marhi, Ralha falls, Nehru Kund. Night stay in Manali.
Day 04: ~ Manali-Kullu-ManikaranCheckout from hotel and proceed towards sightseeing of Manikaran which is located in the Parvati Valley between the rivers Beas and Parvati, northeast of Bhuntar in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. It is at an altitude of 1760 m and is located about 45 km from Kullu. Manikaran is famous of it hot springs and holy Gurudwara. Night Stay will be in Kullu.
Day 05: ~ Manali-Chandigarh(310 Kms, 8-9 Hrs)After a delicious breakfast, Check out from Hotel and leave for Chandigarh railway station/airport for further journey.
